This is how to do correctly.

  1. Maintain your ring position- it is optional to stand either sideways or neutral stance. For the beginners, the side position is the first lesson to take where you later upgrade to a neutral stance. The back must be straight with the heel pointing to the opponent before the impact.

  2. Face the knees towards your target- the position is set to straighten your leg with a raised foot to match the ribs and height of tour opponent. The blade of the foot should be tightened with the lifted toes facing down.

Choosing the right timing is critical in the game. You will require raising and tucking the kicking leg.

  1. Chambering and pivoting are essential in a prospering sidekick. It also offers freedom of operation where you can consecutively throw kicks based on available circumstances. The pivoting allows a stance position for your foot. However, most practitioners underrate the pivoting role.
